This is also what I changed my pseudo to on Postcrossing: TheLastMaybug (from RitaPetra).
Obviously, because of my birthday that is on
May 31, 1966.
I commute between Augsburg and Hainsfarth where my mom (82) still lives with our now 4 cats.
Augsburg got the title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019, due to its water management dating back to Roman times.
And Hainsfarth is on the Northeastern rim of the crater created by a meteorite that hit here some 15 million years ago. An area thus interesting for geologists. Astronauts trained here in the past.
The crater goes by the name of the Nördlinger Ries,
and it was awarded the title of a UNESCO Global Geopark only last year (2022) if I am not totally wrong.
Hhhhmmm....
so I guess in this community, all of you will want a postcard from one of the two places. And one that got to do at least vaguely with the subject that made for the place's connection with UNESCO at that. Right?
