only sent from origin
06 Dec 2022, 10:46:40
Question: is it possible to add in settings a button called "only sent from origin"?

Reason: Sending from the country of origin should be the ideal, but just is impossible sometimes (HongKong, Macao and Taiwan don't have own WHS, if you woudn't allow China), our neighborhood here are the Guineas, Bissau has no WHS, Conacry has a site but right now has no national postal system (it's bankrupt and not operating). Same problem in Guatemala, right now not sending outside of the country.

In Senegal I have several sights but always problems to buy stamps, while in Gambia I meanwhile have a huge collection of stamps.

I myself have several egypt and greece cards, but no idea when or if at all to be there again.

I would like to send my "foreign" WHS sites, but I don't want to "waste" them on people, who only want to recieve "sent from origin", so that option "sent from origin" would be helpful for me.
A reaction gotten showed, that there are different opinions to mine.

The postal service in third world countries can not be compared to those in Europe or USA or the like. Receiving cards only from origin is sometimes impossible and we all should be tolerant. In my case, I am from Mexico, but after COVID 19 crisis Mexican post is no longer reliable or working properly. My cards sent directly from Mexico have all got lost or have taken months, even over a year, to reach their destination. I am sending my Mexican UNESCO sites from USA, with a US card ID. Sent from USA my cards are not lost and usually arrive in a few days to their destination. Please enjoy the hobby. People are more important than cards.

Of course saying it in your profile is not enough as your profile is only shown after someone drew your address for a specific site. Currently the rule on the send postcard site says it should be send from origin "Mail the postcard from the selected country". Since it's written there, I downrate every card by one point that is not sent from origin.

But an extra option would be the ideal solution as not everyone minds sites not sent from origin, while many do. That option could suit both preferences.

Hello, is there a chance we will get this option? Personally, i do not wish to receive cards which are not sent from the country of origin and I would like to see a way how I can make this clear. Saying that in my profile doesn't seem to be enough.

I second this suggestion. I now many collectors who do mind sites being sent from origin only and the note on the "Send postcard" site actually mentions it should be sent from the chosen country. But there are lots of people out there who do not mind if it's send from origin.

I would love to see an option on the profile where one could opt in for "sites not sent from origin", too :) (similar as it had been solved on the EUROPA stamps club with the other items regarding EUROPA Cept)
